Today's weather presented our task committee with a really difficult decision. How to maximize the day when the day is going to be so dynamic and potentially dangerous? With the likelihood for really big cells and lots of wind, especially up high they had to pick a task that kept everyone low, and out of the terrain. They ended up setting both PRO and ADVENTURE tasks exactly the same, which started with a pretty mean 12km pound and 3600' of gain to the first turnpoint.

Tomorrow is going to be a really tricky day with the weather. Our task committee has announced a task for PRO and ADVENTURE but…there still may be a change. For now it’s time for bed. What a phenomenal day of racing, thanks everyone! Go here to view the results.
The task committee truly nailed it today. They built a task to deal with a really active and dynamic sky and our pilots charged hard, many of them surfing the clouds and dodging the growing cumulus into goal. Two very big hikes bookended by some terrific and technical flying! Aaron […]
Our first two Adventure Division pilots have just made goal and David Chen is getting there shortly. Meanwhile some of the pilots just behind our leaders in the PRO division have hit the dirt and are charging north on foot as they got shaded out and were jumped in the air by Jared Scheid and Tyler Burns who just landed into goal with HUGE smiles!
Aaron has gotten a commanding jump into goal with a large cell booming over Salinas and he's being chased hard by veteran world cup and Niviuk test pilot and beast Tanguy Renoud-Goud, the "Hammer" Erik Klammer, and adventure athlete and vertical crusher Chris Moody.
Day 1 of the 2022 XRedRocks is ON! Our weather forecast is tricky today with moderate SW winds and potentially strong overdevelopment but so far it's been a gorgeous day and the front runners are CHARGING!
