Day 1 of the 2022 XRedRocks is ON! Our weather forecast is tricky today with moderate SW winds and potentially strong overdevelopment but so far it’s been a gorgeous day and the front runners are CHARGING! Aaron Durogati was the first to the 2nd turnpoint after maintaining a blistering pace, covering almost 3000 vertical feet of climbing and several km in an hour and seven minutes! Tanguy Renoud-Goud and Isaac Lammers were hot on his tail and Tanguy pulled off a launch in under three minutes. The leaders have already flown down to TP 3 in Monroe and have already made the big climb up to Cover and will be in the air shortly. If they can outrun the weather this puppy will be over just after noon!

The PRO task is a 54km straight line task from Poverty flats to a turnpoint mid way up Monroe Peak, where the pilots will launch and fly down to the LZ in Monroe, then they must make the decision to carry on by foot to goal in Salinas or hike to another launch (most likely COVE) and fly to goal. But they will be racing a big sky!

The Adventure crew have almost the same task but their goal is less far away near Venice:
