What an amazing race. This year truly had it all. Amazing and tough flying, psychedelic scenery, and big miles on the ground through Utah’s wonders. Aaron Durogati battled a nasty virus throughout but hung on with another incredible win, defending his title and North American athlete Eric Klammer snuck into second place ousting the great Pal Takats on the final day with really awesome flying day one and two and then a convincing first place run on the final day. Eric was in our Adventure division year one and had less than 300 hours in the air. And look at him now! The vision for this race was to train our pilots on this side of the pond to go head to head with the best in the world and Eric and many others are proving its working! Ben Abruzzo, Chris Moody, Nick Stahler, Ben Walker, and Kevin Carter rounded out the top ten along with Lars Meerstetter and Markus Anders, both hike and fly veterans in Europe. And in the Adventure Division we’ve got a whole slew of athletes there who I’m sure will be having a go with the Pros next year. What a group of beasts! For a full look at the final results go here.
