Flying nearly the identical course as the pros speed demon Erik Klammer took off this morning AN HOUR before anyone else while it was still blowing over the back and 95% of the field hadn’t even arrived launch after a record climb of Monroe Peak, tagged the Joseph turnpoint, ran back into the terrain, took off, tagged the Monroe TP, flew back out to the Joseph turnpoint, flew back to the last tp and made goal at 13:50! We don’t have anyone in the Pro Division anywhere near him. Kevin Carter is the first in the Pro Division to top land the Monroe TP (Erik had already finished), followed a bit later by Arash Farhang while the rest of the Pro Division and much of the Adventure Division seem to be really struggling. Many are on the ground and are either hiking up to relaunch or have called it a day. Belcourt and Dadam have had to run way south in an attempt to stay in the air and are now getting tall and will hopefully make the Monroe top landing soon. This is going to be a big shake up day!
Conditions at times up on Monroe are a bit feisty, the sky is really pulsing. Timing will be everything today.
